It was in a great and fab location just next door to Mountaineer's Cemetery. It was across the nice enough area. This was exactly the double room I wanted in Zermatt.

Excellent hotel architecture, beautiful rooms, good restaurant(s) inhouse, pretty wellness infrastructure, good beds, friendly staff.
The breakfast could have been more "international", thereby also serving dishes for non-continental-european customers.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the position in the centre of the village is excellent, the rooms are beautiful. Breakfast was flexible (up to 11.30) and offered a variety of very tasty food. Meals in the bar were relatively inexpensive, and there is always Grampi's opposite for Italian food. Wellness area rather small (max. 8 people) but attractive. All in all a very pleasurable stay - there always aeems to be something happening in Zermatt.
Can't think of anything! Except that I couldn't stay longer.

The decor of the hotel is really UNIQUE.(in a good way !).Had a lovely room with a view, though being in the centre one does see the over-developement around.Reflects what Zermatt is...slick and modern, side by side with attempts to preserve the old, rustic charm of a small alpine village.
Would have appreciated a tea/cofee maker in the room. Also, its difficult to relax in the jacuzzi because people walking outside the hotel (even if it is a back road) have a lovely view of you in the tub !
